Nintendo announces release of Super Mario amiibo – Gold Edition

A few weeks after the information was leaked online, the Japanese giant finally makes it official. Nintendo announced today the arrival of the Super Mario amiibo – Gold Edition, the same day as the release of Mario Party 10, on March 20. This golden amiibo will only be available at 3,000 Walmart stores in the U.S. for only US$12.96.

For people collecting amiibo, this sure looks like a great addition, especially for Mario fans who may already have the original one from Super Smash Bros. (Wii U / 3DS). A Silver Mario amiibo will also be released on March 20.

Mario Party 10 will feature the brand-new Amiibo Party mode that players will use with upcoming compatible figures.
