Throughout the week of July 22-28, 2024, the Japanese game console sales showed Nintendo on top once again. The Switch OLED Model maintained its leading position in the sales charts, selling 37,273 units and achieving a remarkable lifetime total of 7,606,893 units. Overall, Nintendo sold 57,133 Switch units combined for the week.
The PlayStation 5 had a great week maintaining second place and selling 20,232 units, which brings its total sales to 5,506,091 units. The PlayStation 5 Digital Edition also did well, selling 5,563 units, making its total sales 823,350 units.
Regarding Xbox, the Xbox Series X sold 5,294 units, bringing its total sales to 296,585 units. The Xbox Series S had a slower week, with 387 units sold, making its total sales 317,036 units. Although Xbox consoles have a smaller market share in Japan, they still attract a loyal group of fans.
