The eagerly anticipated System Shock remake from Nightdive Studios will have to postpone its release for a while longer. The announcement, which was made in the voice of series adversary AI Shodan, stated that the PC version of the game, which was supposed to debut this month, is now aiming for a May 30 launch date on Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store. The PlayStation and Xbox versions will follow the PC release “in due course,” according to Nightdive.
“We had hoped to bring the game to market by the end of March, but that turned out to be just beyond our reach; we are after all merely human (unlike Shodan!),” says the post on Steam.
The modern version of System Shock brings together the original game with HD graphics, enhanced controls, improved gameplay, new enemies, a new user interface and a new hacking system.
Players can currently download the demo on Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store. Also, people who pre-order the game now will receive System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition for free once it gets released.
