The Last of Us Season 1 Finale set a new record for viewership on Sunday night with 8.2 million viewers across HBO Max and its traditional TV broadcasts.
The show’s viewership increased slightly over last week’s 8.1M for the penultimate episode while competing with the Oscars. Also, it is a 74% increase over the 4.7M viewers for the series debut in January.
HBO reports that the series’ average viewership for the first six episodes is currently 30.4 million across all platforms. The first episode is about to reach 40 million viewers.
The Last of Us, starring Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie, is already the most-watched show for HBO Max in Latin America and Europe.
Warner Bros. Discovery also shared a list of the series’ weekly premiere viewership:

- Episode 3 – 6.4 million (Jan. 29)
- Episode 4 – 7.5 million (Feb. 5)
