Universal announced on Twitter that The Super Mario Bros. Movie will make its debut in the US and other 60 markets on April 5th, 2023, two days earlier than previously anticipated.
The animated adventure will then continue to be released in more markets throughout April and into May, with the film opening in Japan on April 28.
Although the reason behind The Super Mario Bros. Movie’s earlier than anticipated arrival in the US is unclear, considering the prior setbacks, it’s probable that Universal, Nintendo and Illumination simply wanted to make it available to the public as early as possible.
