As spotted by Twitter account @thebookisclosed, the Windows 11 RGB Lighting settings has arrived in the latest Windows 11 Build 25295.
“New settings for device lighting make an appearance in build 25295. Is this the beginning of the end for low quality RGB gamer gear apps? ,” says the tweet. The tweet mentions a reference for this experimental feature dated 2018.
Currently, users who purchase lightning depends on third-party software from makers such as Logitech and Razer. With the native feature on Windows 11, users may not need third-party software. However, these native settings seen are basic and it would depend on whether the ambient lighting makers get to support this W11 feature or not.
The RGB setting can be found on Windows 11 build 25295 under Settings –> Personalization –> Lighting.
With the current options, users can control brightness, lighting effect, effect speed, color, on/off for “match my Windows accent color,” and on/off for “enable ambient lighting for this device.” Each lighting device can have its own personalized options.
A screenshot shows four devices: Gaming KB, Stream Deck MK.2, Precision Mouse, and ROG Strix HS.
The feature can be enabled using ViveTool. Check out the post called “How to enable RGB Lighting controls on Windows 11” (archive | screenshot) on Pureinfotech.com.
Microsoft hasn’t made a formal announcement about this feature yet.
