The official Studio Ghibli Twitter account released today a video showing its logo and one of Lucasfilm, with no accompanying message.
With this announcement, the beloved animation company in charge of films such as Spirited Away, Grave of the Fireflies, and Ponyo, confirms that it is working together with Lucasfilm for one or more projects. Nothing specific is known about their joint effort.
It could be that both companies are working on a project based on a Lucasfilm franchise, such as Star Wars. Disney has already worked with seven anime studios for the making of the animated anthology series Star Wars: Visions, which was produced by Lucasfilm.
Could Studio Ghibli be working with Lucasfilm for Season 2 of Star Wars: Visions? Or, can it be a completely different project both companies are working on? Stay tuned.
