For the first time in many months, the PlayStation 5 has taken first place in Japan game console sales for the week of October 24-30, 2022.
Sony landed in first place with 34,287 PS5 units and 4,579 PS5 Digital Edition units for a total of 38,866 units sold. Nintendo arrived in second with 23,399 Switch OLED model units, 14,262 Switch units, and 973 Switch Lite units for a total of 38,634 units. Microsoft’s console remained in third place with 1,921 Xbox Series S units and 1,753 Xbox Series X units sold, for a total of 3,674 units sold.
Though the difference between Switch and PS5 units is minimum, will the PS5 continue to maintain the lead? We’ll find out in the next few weeks and months.
