According to Jason Schreier at Bloomberg, video game publisher Embracer Group AB is about to shut down Studio Onoma, one of the studios it acquired almost six months ago from Square Enix.
Studio Onoma (όνομα), formerly known as Square Enix Montréal, had announced its new name just 22 days ago.
Embracer Group AB has already informed Studio Onoma that some employees would be transferred to Eidos Montréal.
The Bloomberg report also states Embracer Group AB is looking for ways to cut costs after its various purchases of studios.
One undisclosed project by Eidos Montréal has had its scope reduced, and a different project will be canceled.
Embracer is also planning to assist Microsoft with the development of some titles, including a Fable one.
The studio was responsible for the creation of games such as Hitman GO, Lara Croft GO and Deus Ex GO. It was founded in 2011.
