Ubisoft has postponed the termination of online services for some of its older games. The shutdowns will now last an extra month, ending on October 1 instead of September 1, when they were originally scheduled to begin.
“Decommissioning online services for older games is something we do not take lightly, but it is also a necessity as the technology that drove those services becomes obsolete,” says the updated post. “Over the last month, our teams have been hard at work exploring what is possible to reduce disruption.”
The games that will still be available for online services until October 1 are:
- Assassin’s Creed II (PC, PS3)
- Assassin’s Creed III [2012 release] (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)
- Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)
- Assassin’s Creed Revelations (PS3, Xbox 360)
- Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD (PC)
- Driver San Francisco (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)
- Far Cry 3 (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)
- Ghost Recon Future Soldier (PS3, Xbox 360)
- Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (PC)
- Rayman Legends (PS3, Wii U, Xbox 360)
- Silent Hunter 5 (PC)
- Splinter Cell: Blacklist (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)
- ZombiU (Wii U)
