According to Bloomberg, Activision Blizzard and NetEase have cancelled a World of Warcraft mobile game that was already in development for three years.
The report says over 100 NetEase employees had been developing content for the Warcraft mobile spinoff title. What led to a halt for the mobile game code-named Neptune was a disagreement over terms between both companies.
The title was supposed to be an MMORPG in a different time period though in the same universe as WoW.
NetEase is responsible for the publication of Activision Blizzard franchises in China. Both companies worked together in the development of Diablo Immortal.
