After both Xbox Series models pushed Sony’s consoles to third place in Japan game console sales, the PlayStation 5 regained second place for the week of 20-26, 2022.
As expected, Nintendo kept the lead again with its three Switch models with an estimated total of 56,549 units sold. Meanwhile, Sony went back to second place with a very small lead by selling 9,181 PS5 units overall. Microsoft returned to third place with 8,915 Xbox Series units, only behind the PS5 by 266 units.
This comes after both Xbox Series models together outsold the PS5 and the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition during the week of June 13-19, 2022.
