Though the Nintendo Switch OLED model has been on top previously for many weeks, the original Switch model took first place this time around in Japan game console sales for the week of June 6-12, 2022, according to Famitsu.
In previous weeks, the estimated sales of the OLED models averaged about 30k+ per week, with the original model in second with about half the amount of the OLED one (close to 15,000).
Overall, 58,436 Nintendo Switch consoles were sold during the mentioned week, which is less than the 60,122 Switch ones sold in the previously reported week of May 30 – June 5, 2022. Meanwhile, Sony sold a total of 12,440 PS5 consoles, which is less than the number of units sold in the previously reported week as well (28,583). Even Microsoft, sold less consoles than usual with 6,242 Xbox Series units, also less than in the previous week which reached 11,573 units.
