Via social media, Bethesda Softworks announced its upcoming titles Redfall and Starfield will be delayed until 2023.
Starfield, the action sci-fi RPG game announced at E3 2018, was supposed to be released on November 11, 2022, as an Xbox Series console exclusive. For the developer (Bethesda Game Studios), it is its newest intellectual property in 25 years.
Redfall, the first-person shooter being developed by Arkane Studios, was announced during the Xbox and Bethesda E3 2021 presentation.
Both titles will make their debut during “the first half of 2023.”
Though there was no specific explanation for the delay, the tweet says both teams and Bethesda Softworks “want to ensure that you receive the best, most polished versions of them.”
Redfall and Starfield will be the first two console-exclusive Bethesda games since Microsoft completed its purchase of Bethesda Softworks parent company ZeniMax Media on March 9, 2021.
