During the Microsoft Ability Summit today, the company introduced a new line of Microsoft Adaptive Accessories to assist users of the disability community with their PC needs.
The three new devices of this input ecosystem are the Adaptive Mouse, Adaptive Buttons, and the Adaptive Hub.
Each device is customizable giving users the freedom to configure input devices.
Instead of a traditional mouse, the Microsoft Adaptive Mouse can be customized with the “Microsoft Adaptive Mouse Tail and Thumb Support, or 3D printed tails.” It’s light and portable. Thumb support can be accommodated for users who are left or right-handed.
Also, up to four Adaptive Buttons can be configured with the Adaptive Hub to customize methods of input using various wireless buttons.
With the Adaptive Hub, up to four Adaptive Buttons can be configured to customize different methods of input using wireless buttons. The hub is also compatible with “standard 3.5mm assistive tech switches.” It features three profiles that can be programmed to work with multiple devices.
The new accessories will be available this Fall.
