eBASEBALL Powerful Pro Yakyuu 2022 dethroned Kirby and the Forgotten Land in Japan game sale charts for the week of April 18-24, 2022.
The popular baseball title features super deformed characters and fast-paced gameplay. It has had different names since its debut in 1994 on the Super Famicom. For the mentioned week, there were 92,724 Switch and 54,536 PS4 copies of eBASEBALL Powerful Pro Yakyuu 2022.
The second-best new game in terms of sales was Yomawari 3, a survival horror game. The story follows a nameless girl who wakes up in a strange dark wilderness and has no knowledge of how she got there. During the mentioned week, 11,129 Switch copies (landing in 5th place) and 5,154 PS4 copies (landing in 12th place) were sold.
Hyperdimension Neptunia Sisters vs Sisters (Choujigen Game Neptune: Sisters vs Sisters / 超次元ゲイム ネプテューヌ Sisters vs Sisters) made its debut in 8th and 17th place, with 6,268 PS4 copies and 3,807 PS5 copies sold respectively. It’s part of an RPG series that made its debut in 2010.
Kiki Kaikai Kuro Manto no Nazo (aka Pocky & Rocky Reshrined) is a remake of a classic shooting game series which appeared first in the arcades in the 1980s featuring the young shrine maiden Pocky and her raccoon companion, Rocky. This remake sold with 5,747 Switch copies with 2,014 PS4 copies, appearing on the list in 10th place and 26th place respectively.
Finally, World War Z is a 4-player co-op third-person shooter game based on the Paramount Pictures film of the same name. It features a new storyline and new characters. The game made its debut in 20th place with 2,979 Switch copies sold.
