Electronic Arts told IGN today the EA Play Live 2022 event has been cancelled. The announcement marks another roadblock for live events this year.
In January, the ESA announced E3 2022 will be a digital event, due to COVID-19 concerns, instead of an in-person event.
IGN shared the following statement given by an EA representative:
“We love EA Play Live as it’s our way of connecting with our players and sharing what’s new with all of you. However, this year things aren’t lining up to show you everything on one date. We have exciting things happening at our world-class studios and this year we’ll reveal much more about these projects when the time is right for each of them. We look forward to spending time with you throughout the year!”
In 2016, EA started its live event (known then as EA Play) outside E3 for fans to try the company’s latest titles. However, the event took place online due to the pandemic.
