Nintendo announced today its Russian Nintendo eShop store is in maintenance mode due to the suspension of the service it uses to process payments.
With the suspension, players in Russia are not able to purchase digital content from the Nintendo online store.
The following message appears in a support page at Nintendo.ru when using Google Translate or Bing Translate:
“Due to the fact that the payment service used in Nintendo eShop has suspended the processing of payments in rubles, Nintendo eShop in Russia is temporarily transferred to maintenance mode.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused. We’ll be sharing the news as the situation evolves.”
Other game companies have also suspended the sale of products and services such as Microsoft, Sony, EA, and CD Projekt Red, due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
