Netflix has announced a price increase to its monthly subscriptions for users in the U.S. and Canada.
The new Netflix price increase comes fifteen months since the previous increase took place in October 2020.
New customers will see the price increase immediately in both countries. Meanwhile, existing customers will see the increase in the coming weeks. Current members will be informed via email and the app a month before the new price applies to their accounts.
For customers in the U.S., the new price increase will apply to the three plans. The Basic plan goes up $1 from $8.99 to $9.99, while the Standard one gets a $1.50 increase from $13.99 to 15.49. For fans who love to watch content in Ultra HD, the Premium plan now costs $19.99.

For customers in Canada, the cost for the Basic plan remains the same. However, the increase is similar to the one in the U.S. for the other plans. For new subscribers, the Standard plan now costs $16.49 CAD (from $14.99 CAD) and the Premium one goes up to $20.99 CAD (from $18.99 CAD).
