Konami announced today the eFootball 2022 v.1.0.0 update has been postponed until Spring 2022.
This announcement is disappointing news for fans of soccer who were waiting for the November 11 update.
“We have been working diligently towards distributing an update that will bring new content to the game, including a new mode where you can strengthen and play with an original team, as well as support for mobile devices on November 11, 2021, “says the post. “Unfortunately, we have concluded that more time is needed to deliver the product in the quality that will meet the expectations of our users and have decided to postpone the delivery.”
Even though users of eFootball will not be getting the mentioned update, Konami has already released the v.0.9.1 update (archive) today which is expected to “fix numerous bugs sequentially on each platform.”
Konami also announced the cancellation and automatic refunds of eFootball™ 2022 Premium Player Pack. The pack is supposed to work with in-game items that must have the v.1.0.0 update.
The publisher has also cancelled all pre-orders for the pack and will soon start refunding users.
A re-download of the core game is needed for users who made a pre-order and want to continue playing the game.
“We apologize again for the inconvenience. All production staff will continue to make sincere efforts to deliver satisfying contents in Spring 2022. Thank you for your patience.”
The release of eFootball on Sept. 30 was a disappointment for many reasons. The Steam version of the game received numerous negative reviews.
