Via Twitter, developer Firaxis Games announced its decision to delay the launch of Marvel’s Midnight Suns until the second half of 2022.
The tactical RPG game officially revealed in August at Gamescom 2021 had an original release date of March 2022. However, Jake Solomon (Creative Director) and Garth DeAngelis (Senior Franchise Producer) shared the unfortunate development update.
“We decided to share that we’ve made the very tough decision to move our launch windows to the second half of 2022. We know many fans were looking forward to playing the game originally next spring, and this decision did not come lightly. We decided to push our launch because we need more time to make this the best game possible,” says the message.
“We believe in our creative vision for Marvel’s Midnight Suns and want to do justice in delivering an unforgettable adventure set in the supernatural side of Marvel. These extra months will be used to add more story, cinematics and overall polish and will be essential in helping us make our vision a reality.”

It seems like a smart decision on behalf of Firaxis Games for two reasons. One would be to avoid competing against AAA titles coming to consoles and PC in the first quarter of 2022. Another reason is to make more improvements on the game before release. When the game’s trailer was shown on IGN’s YouTube account, it had 12K likes and 5K dislikes.
