Amazon Games announced today another delay for its upcoming New World MMO game. The title was supposed to make its debut at the end of this month.
Amazon stated the reason of the delay this time around is due to the “ton of feedback” fans sent during the Closed Beta phase.
“We want New World’s launch to be a smooth and fun experience for all players, and that means making some improvements based on what you encountered during Closed Beta,” says the tweet. “So we’re going to take a few extra weeks to smash bugs, improve stability, and polish the game. New World’s new global launch date is September 28, 2021.”
This is not the first time Amazon Games has delayed New World. The title was originally scheduled to debut in May 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was delayed in April 2020 (for a release on August 25, 2020) and in July 2020 (for release in Spring 2021).
In February of this year, the game developer delayed the game once more for the August 2021 release.
“This was not an easy decision to make. We know this isn’t the first time we’ve changed our launch date in pursuit of quality, and that it can be disappointing to wait a bit longer. But we want to be sure we deliver you the highest quality game at launch. Thank you for your support and feedback.”
Amazon Games has been waiting to make its first game debut. Unfortunately, the studio has already cancelled The Lord of the Rings MMORPG, Crucible and Breakaway.
