During the official reveal of Windows 11 today, Microsoft announced Android apps from Amazon Appstore are coming to Windows 11.
According to the presentation, Microsoft will make use of the Amazon Appstore to run Android apps natively on Windows 11. Among the apps that were shown was the Android version of the very popular social network TikTok.
For this transition, Microsoft has been partnered with Intel to make use of the Intel Bridge technology to make this feature possible. Because of the use of Intel Bridge, what remains to be known is what Windows PCs will support this feature.
Bringing Android apps to Windows 11 seems like a response to Apple’s plan to run iOS apps on macOS computers.
Windows 11 will be a free update and will be available late this year. Windows Insider users whose computers satisfy the requirements will be able to start downloading the new OS next week.
