Via its Xbox support page, Microsoft announced the special Cyberpunk 2077 refund policy will end on July 6, 2021.
“We’ll return to our standard digital game refund policy for Cyberpunk 2077 on July 6 for all purchases,” says the Digital Game Purchase Refund Terms page on Xbox.com, also seen on Twitter.

“The team at CD PROJEKT RED continues to work hard to improve the experience of Cyberpunk 2077 for Xbox players and has made a number of updates. Given these updates, Microsoft will be returning to our standard digital game refund policy for Cyberpunk 2077 on July 6 for both new and existing purchases.”
The announcement comes six-and-a-half months after the disappointing launch of the game. Cyberpunk 2077 had various bugs and glitches when played in the base models of PS4 and Xbox One consoles, causing performance issues. Sony then decided to give refunds and to remove the title from the PlayStation Store.
Both Sony and Microsoft also offered full refunds to gamers who purchased the title via their digital stores. In Microsoft’s case, it’s usually “sales are final,” meaning no refunds, though there can be exceptions.
Stores such as Best Buy offered refund to customers as well.
Players who are still unhappy about Cyberpunk 2077 and want a refund have until the end of July 5 to request a refund before returning to its standard policy.
