As the blue blur turns 30 tomorrow, the people at Mojang and Sega released today the Minecraft Sonic the Hedgehog DLC.
Now that Sonic is in Minecraft, he is also not alone. Some of his friends are joining him on the Minecraft versions of Green Hills Zone and Chemical Plant Zone. That means fans gotta go fast in Minecraft with Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and others.
What Sonic brings to Minecraft are races with friends for high scores in epic levels. Fans can also unlock achievements, characters, and new zones in addition to a challenging Eggman Mode. To add more variety, the DLC also includes 24 skins. The trailer shows skins for Dr. Robotnik, Amy, Shadow and other characters.
It’s more than just a DLC, it’s a way to play Sonic in way never before seen. There are also hidden secrets within the game.
The DLC is now available at the Minecraft Marketplace for $7.99 USD or 1340 Minecraft coins.
To enjoy Sonic’s anniversary, a special server (The Hive) will host a “a two-week server-hub takeover featuring mini-games and a few festive surprises.” Something special will appear “on one of the weekends.”
