Via its blog, Funimation announced the streaming and Blu-Ray versions of the 1985 anime series Robotech is coming this Fall.
Funimation will sell exclusively the Robotech Collector’s Edition (pre-order available now) of the anime in the US and Canada starting September 28 via its Funimation Shop.
According to the post, the Collector’s Edition will come with:
- All 85 episodes of Robotech: The Series
- An exclusive dual pack of figures, including a variant of Roy Focker’s Transforming Robotech – VF-1S and Roy Fokker in Pilot Uniform
- Four military-style 3′ patches
The entire anime series has been remastered in high definition by Funimation. The episodes will keep Robotech’s original aspect ratio as well.
A standard release for the three Robotech series will be available separately.
- Robotech: The Macross Saga – September 28 (pre-order available now)
- The Masters – November 16
- The New Generation – December 14
What remains to be known is the date for the streaming debut of Robotech on Funimation. Robotech II: The Sentinels and Robotech the Shadow Chronicles will also make its way in standard definition.
Funimation will make the Robotech anime series available in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Latin America.
The streaming service provider is also reminding fans that Sony Pictures Entertainment is working on a live-action adaptation of Robotech.
