Via its website, game developer People Can Fly announced today its acquisition of Phosphor Games.
With the purchase, Phosphor Games (founded in 2009) has become People Can Fly Chicago.
“A new chapter opens for our team,” said Justin Corcoran, CEO at Phosphor Studios. “We are very excited to be joining People Can Fly to open a brand new Triple-A studio – People Can Fly Chicago. Our goal is to strengthen PCF’s presence in the US and help build People Can Fly as a global brand.”
“Taking over the Phosphor Games’ team is simply an execution of our strategy, announced during PCF Group’s recent IPO. With the variety of on-going projects, we need well-seasoned, ambitious professionals to bring our plans to fruition,” – said Sebastian Wojciechowski, CEO at People Can Fly.
The Polish developer worked on the recently-released RPG/Shooter title “Outriders” published by Square Enix.
PCF can now add its newest studio to its list. The company has offices in Warsaw, Rzeszów, Newcastle, New York, Łódź and Montreal. Now, PCF employs more than 320 people.
With PCF Chicago, the company will continue working on two AAA titles, a new one for Square Enix and an action-adventure one for Take-Two Interactive.
