The original Shantae game is coming to Nintendo Switch on April 22 via the eShop, developer WayForward announced today.
Shantae made its debut as a 2D platform game for the Game Boy Color. It was developed by WayForward and published by Capcom in 2002.
As a half-genie, she has to travel across Sequin Land. Her goal: to stop the evil lady pirate Risky Boots.
During the game, she learns dances to transform into different creatures.
Players will be able to select either the Game Boy Color mode or the enhanced Game Boy Advanced mode.
The game received critical acclaim during its initial release. However, the sales weren’t successful then. Shantae was released in June of 2002 on the Game Boy Color almost a year after the Game Boy Advanced made its debut.
This is the best chance for fans to experience the original Shantae.
