Via its community forum, Terraria announced the game has sold 35 million copies across all platforms.
As the game nears its 10th anniversary, the elements of exploration, crafting, building, fighting and more, along with free DLC throughout the years have kept Terraria a very popular title.
The post mentions 17.2 million copies were sold for PCs, 8.5 million sold on gaming consoles, and 9.3 million on mobile devices, “as of the end of 2020.”
This feat helped Terraria take the number one spot on Steam250’s highest rated games on Steam. The accomplishment made Portal 2 take second place and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in third place.
“All of this comes less than a year’s time from when we celebrated crossing the 30 Million barrier. Simply put, the momentum for Terraria has never been stronger than it is right this moment.”
