Google’s cloud gaming service announced the Stadia State Share feature is coming January 20 starting with the Hitman Trilogy.
The unique feature lets users embed “a game state within each capture.” Each capture can include:
- Mission starting location within the beginning of the level
- Mission objectives
- Player loadout (including weapon, gear, and clothing)
- Mission difficulty
Fans can share their game saves with friends who haven’t unlocked certain weapons or items yet, “at the click of a link.” Playing these shared game saves will not alter your own gameplay.
It will be easy for users to recognize a State Share from one’s own saves. Each State Share will feature a unique icon on the top right.
“State Share will be used differently in each game that supports it, so the gameplay elements included in each game state and the overall player experience will vary,” said Catherine Hsiao, Product Manager at Stadia.
