Via its website, Nintendo announced the Netflix app for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS devices will be shut down on June 30th, 2021. After that date, the app will not work.
While current users can continue re-downloading Netflix to watch TV shows and movies via the app until that mentioned date, it is already too late for others. Any new user who didn’t download the Netflix app before December 31, 2020, can no longer get it from the Nintendo eShop.
Meanwhile, the Netflix app hasn’t arrived to Nintendo Switch. The console made its debut on March 3, 2017, almost four years ago.
Last month, Funimation became the latest video service to bring its app to Nintendo Switch, joining Hulu and YouTube.
Will fans of Netflix be able to watch their favorite shows on Switch later this year?
