With support already available for Xbox Series X controllers, Valve has added support for the PS5 DualSense controller on its latest Steam beta client software.
The “initial input support” is not ready for prime-time yet though. It lacks support for advanced features the PS5 controller offers such as rumble, trackpad, haptic feedback and gyro.
If fans want want to play games with a client other than Steam, they can add their non-Steam games into the Steam library and launch them from there. While gamers in the North America, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, and South Korea can try this already, others in the rest of the world will have to wait until November 19 or later.
The recent Steam update also solves a bug that made the Xbox Series X controller show up “as 2 separate controllers.”
Will gamers eventually see official PS5 controller support for use on Windows?
