Via its earnings call today, Ubisoft announced two of its upcoming titles are being delayed: Far Cry 6 and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Quarantine.
The 14-page document titled “Ubisoft Reports First-Half 2020-21 Earnings Figures” shares many achievements by the company. Among them, the results of “its net bookings of €344.7 million” during the second fiscal quarter, and the growth and success in Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and other games.
However, Ubisoft has updated plans for the two mentioned titles due to COVID-19. “The impact of the COVID-10 crisis: Shift of Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine to 2021-22, two high-contribution titles, due to production challenges related to work from home.” The 2021-22 fiscal year starts in April 2021 at Ubisoft.
This announcement comes one day after the company announced the re-branding to its subscription service. Another high-profile game, Cyberpunk 2077 (by CD Projekt Red), also got delayed but only for three weeks.
Fans should not be disappointed because Ubisoft is ready to launch Just Dance 2021, Immortals: Fenyx Rising, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla in the next few weeks.
