The first Fire Emblem game is coming to the US thirty years after it was originally released in Japan.
Nintendo announced today Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light will be available via the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch starting December 4 as a limited-time purchase.
It’s great news for fans of the franchise who got to learn about Marth and Roy with their presence in Super Smash Bros. Melee released in 2001. Their presence led to releases of Fire Emblem outside of Japan.
Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light will be available for USD$5.99 until March 31, 2021.
Nintendo also announced Fire Emblem 30th Anniversary Edition, a collector’s edition of the game which comes with a physical NES box, a replica NES Game Pad art piece, a 222-page Legacy of Archanea deluxe hardbound art book, a game download code, a NES instruction manual (localized from the original Famicon version), a world map, and a Mini Nintendo Power retro collectible. It will be available for USD$49.99.
The original FE game, released in Japan on April, 20, 1990, had never been released in the US before.
The game is also making its debut in Europe, but it seems like it will only be in English. No word of the game being translated to other languages.
