After leaking information about the game on its site yesterday, Nintendo released Kirby Fighters 2 for the Nintendo Switch today.
It’s a surprise the sequel to the 2014 release of Kirby Fighters Deluxe for the Nintendo 3DS gets released without a mention on Nintendo Direct.
In Kirby Fighters 2, Kirby comes ready with “17 of the most iconic copy abilities” from its series of games. This is also the fist time fans are getting introduced to Kirby’s new Wrestler ability. With Kirby and his rivals, there is a total of 22 fighting styles to play with.
In Story Mode, Meta Knight and King Dedede challenge players to a buddy duel. With the help of a friend as a 2nd player or the game’s CPU, both players will fight inside a tower. As they beat their rivals, they go up a floor. There are items for players to collect to increase their characters’ stats.
In Multiplayer mode, up to four players can fight using a single Switch for individual and team battles. Also, if there are up to 4 Switch consoles, players can also play local mode. If you want to play online against others up to 4 players, fans will need the Nintendo Switch Online membership.
The game is available for download right now on the Nintendo eShop for US$19.99.
