An Australian Ubisoft customer support page removed PS5 backwards compatibility info that stated the PlayStation 5 console will only be compatible with PS4 games, excluding thousands of titles from PS1, PS2, and PS3.
The “Transitioning PlayStation 4 Titles to next-gen versions” page had part of the response removed to a question about upgrading.
“Backwards compatibility will be available for supported PlayStation 4 titles, but will not be possible for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 2, or PlayStation games,” disappeared hours later today.
It seems like certain people at Ubisoft noticed it and decided to delete that specific statement.
The American version of that page has more info does not have any reference of backward compatibility for PS1, PS2, and PS3 games.
In previous generations, Sony removed backwards compatibility support in the PS3 and did not include it in the PS4.
