Starting today, Sony is giving fans a chance to sign-up and pre-order a PlayStation 5.
Though the company hasn’t yet announced a release date and price for its next-gen console, it is inviting fans to get a console and other accessories directly from Sony. However, because the reservations are on a first-come-first-serve basis, fans have to act fast.
“There will be a limited quantity of PS5 consoles available for pre-order, so we will be inviting some of our existing consumers to be one of the first to pre-order one from PlayStation,” says the PS5 Console Pre-Order Invitation page.
If interested, fans will have to submit their PlayStation Online ID.
A FAQ page says Sony will pick users “based on previous interests and PlayStation activities.”
A received invitation, available for a limited time, doesn’t guarantee fans will be able to pre-order a PlayStation 5 console or any of its accessories. “Each invitation is open for a limited time and quantities are limited per PSN ID per transaction”
Among the products available for purchase:
- 1 PS5 Console or 1 PS5 Digital Edition
- 2 DualSense wireless controllers
