Starting August 18, EA Access and Origin Access will be getting a not-so-new name: EA Play. To be specific, EA Access and Origin Access Basic will simply be known as EA Play, while Origin Access Premier will become EA Play Pro.
With the rebranding, gamers will refer to the service under the same name whether they use their consoles or PC.
“Moving all the benefits to a single brand is an important step in streamlining our services to ensure that being an EA Play member is the best way to play,” says the article.
The name may already be familiar for fans of EA. The company has already used “EA Play” to refer to its annual live outside of E3, featuring game news, trailers and updates. This year, the name of the event was renamed “EA Play Live.”
With the service, players will continue to get many benefits such as access to a library of titles, 10% discount on digital purchases, exclusive in-game challenges and rewards, access to early trials of new games, and more.
