G4 Returns in 2021: “We Never Stopped Playing”

With the slogan “We never stopped playing,” G4, the defunct TV network devoted to video games and entertainment, is returning in 2021. The last two shows, Attack of the Show and X-Play, were discontinued in late 2012 and the channel was shut down in 2014.

In the “G4 Returns” teaser trailer first shown during Comic-Con @ Home on IGN Live, many boxes and other things appeared inside a big storage room. A couple of NES controllers appear. An old CRT TV shows a game of Pong which gets interrupted with an “Incoming Transmission” message. A few seconds later, the old G4 logo appears once again.

The G4tv.com website looks different. It shows some fake code with messages and it eventually lets people play a game of Pong. Anyone who gets four points in Pong can enter an email address to receive updates.

Will G4 return as a TV network? Will it be a website with online shows? Will former hosts make a comeback?

Along with the person in charge of the @aots account, former G4 hosts got to re-tweet the teaser trailer. Most of them shared their feelings.
