According to TrueAchievements.com, Microsoft has confirmed the removal of its 12-month Xbox Live Gold subscription from the Microsoft Store.
“At this time, Xbox has decided to remove the 12 months Xbox Live Gold SKU from the Microsoft online Store,” a Microsoft spokesperson told TrueAchievements.com yesterday. “Customers can still sign up for a one-month or three-month Xbox Live Gold subscription online through the Microsoft Store.”
However, Microsoft did not explain why it decided to remove the 12-month membership.
Have fans seen the end of Xbox Live Gold? Xbox owners have started to speculate that Xbox Live Gold, required for online play, may either be incorporated into Ultimate or perhaps it may be free.
It was only a few days ago that Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, mentioned that Project xCloud will be included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate starting in September at no additional charge.
