Marvel’s Avengers to be a launch title for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X

Square Enix announced today the upcoming game Marvel’s Avengers will be a launch title for both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

While the game will make its debut on current consoles and PC on September 4, people who buy the PS4 or Xbox One version of the game will get the next-generation version upgrade for free.

Also, players will be able to enjoy cross-gen play so that PS5 fans will be able to play against their friends who still own a PS4, and Xbox Series X owners get to challenge their friends who only own the Xbox One version.

The game developer also mentioned fans will be able to transfer their save files from their current-gen consoles to next-gen consoles to continue gaming where fans left off.

When it comes to features on next-gen consoles, today’s post mentions the ultra-high speed SSD, the DualSense advanced haptics and the immersive spatial audio for a “seamless and dynamic” PS5 experience.

Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix will share more specific details of the game for PC, Google Stadia and Xbox Series X “at a later time.”
