Sega and Creative Ways announced today the upcoming game “A Total War Saga: TROY” will be free for the first 24 hours of release exclusively at the Epic Games Store.
For gamers who have not played any of the Total War titles, it’s an opportunity to check out the franchise for free. It’s also a chance for Sega of Europe to introduce more gamers to its long-time franchise.
“Thanks to Epic, we’re able to offer a Total War title for free on its launch day. It’s a hugely exciting thing for us to be able to do for our players,” says Tim Heaton, Chief Studios Officer at Sega Europe Ltd, via the blog post. “Not only does this mean that we can bring the tales and legends of TROY to a wide audience through Epic’s massive platform, but it also means new players will get to try Total War for the first time, experiencing the unique gameplay that the series is famous for.”
After the 1-year exclusivity with the Epic Games Store, the game will be available on other digital gaming stores like Steam.
In this game, gamers play the role of Achilles, Hector and other heroes of the Bronze-Age conflict of the Trojan War. Their goal: to defend the city of Troy… “or raze it to the ground.”
