Viking rap battles are coming to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

In a video posted on social media, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla creative director Ashraf Ismail said the game will have Viking rap battles.

One of the many traditions of Vikings was flyting, what we know now as rap battles. It was part of a fun and social activity to do when people would start drinking and insult one another rhythmically.

“It’s part of the period. It’s part of the culture. You’re facing off against somebody, or they challenge Eivor. Eivor will have to find a response, and so you’ll have multiple choices in front of you and you will find to find the right one that matches the insult, the one that has the right rhythm.”
