Nintendo will shut down the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U eShops in almost all Latin American and Caribbean countries on July 31, 2020.
Users living in the following countries that have had limited eShops for both consoles will not be able to redeem a download code, re-download software or update software after the mentioned date: Anguilla, Antigua/Barbuda, Argentina, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, Bolivia, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, French Guiana, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Martinique, Montserrat, Netherlands Antilles, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent/Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos Islands, US Virgin Islands, Uruguay, Venezuela.
After the closure of both eShops in the mentioned regions on July 31, Brazil will only have a full 3DS eShop, while Mexico will keep its “full Nintendo eShop.” Also, “any software that requires the limited Nintendo eShops to operate may cease to function.”
Though Nintendo is closing its limited digital stores for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS in most of Latin America and the Caribbean, will fans see the closure of the eShop for both consoles later this year in the rest of the world?
