Fans of 1980s racing games such as Out Run, Pole Position, Chase H.Q., Hard Drivin’ and Test Drive will soon relive those days with the arrival of “80’s Overdrive” to the Nintendo Switch on May 7 in the Americas and Europe.
The Nintendo Switch version, to be published by Insane Code, features six retro cars from the 80’s (including, Penetrator GT and Intruder Turbo), the graphical arcade style of the decade with 18 synth/retrowave musical scores, handcrafted pixel art graphics, and 8 visual themes. Also, the track editor will let fans create their own tracks and share them with friends via codes.
When it comes to games modes, the time-attack mode (aka Outrun mode), will let players race against the clock, while career mode will let players race against each other, with police chasing drivers.
If you’ve heard about this game, you may have seen it for the Nintendo 3DS, which was released in late 2017.
