Saturday Night Live at Home made fun of gaming and a retro ‘toon last night. In the first-ever work-from-home and not-recorded-live NBC comedy show, the people at Saturday Night Live showed a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles parody. Titled “Middle-Aged Mutant Ninja Turtles,” the cartoon shows how the lives of the “heroes in a half shell” has changed, but it’s not what fans of the 1980s version of the series may expect.
As the first TMNT turns 30 this month, this SNL-made episode comes at the right time to see the turtles confronting certain real-life situations: Michaelangelo’s wife doesn’t love him and he wants to stay with the kids, Rafael tells Leonardo that their arch-enemy Shredder is dead, they all have kids (one playing with a Switch during a ride to school), one has problems with gambling (and ask to borrow some $$$), one goes to shop at Whole Foods, Donatello receives a call from a doctor’s office to get the results of a cancer diagnostic exam, and more. It seems like they don’t have the strength and abilities they had in their younger years.
If only they all could cross worlds to go see Master Roshi to train and get back in shape, but, where’s Splinter anyway?

Also, Cam Playz Dat (role played by comedian Mikey Day on SNL) hosted a Twitch stream in which he shows his less-than-stellar skills at Call of Duty: Warzone and the classic Super Mario Bros. Though he keep losing very quickly at Warzone, fans must have thought his skills at Mario would be way better. Instead, it seems like he tried to change the meaning of speed-run as he quickly lost at the start of World 1-1 of Super Mario Bros.
