Funimation showed yesterday on Twitter a 90-second behind-the-scenes dubbing-from-home video.
After Funiamtion announced a pause on the anime simuldubs on March 18 to adjust to the new normal life because of the coronavirus, the company released the video on Twitter with Colleen Clinkerbeard, Justin Cook and Luci Christian.
Colleen says most of the dubbing for episode 84 was dubbed from home, while Justin mentions the team at Funimation “came up with something incredible.”
Colleen and Luci mainly show viewers how their laptops and iPads (aka dub kits) were set up to work. “Special dub kits were sent out to cast and crew so they can record from home.” Those kits were adapted for sound quality “in more than 30 homes” to continue with production of simuldubs.
A post on Funimation.com says: “The production team and voice actors have been incredible through this entire process, getting remote dubbing stations set up in their homes, working with tough schedules and circumstances and, most of all, staying positive!”
Episode 84 of MHA will be available at 12pm Eastern / 11am Central time on Funimation.
