The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) announced the dates for E3 2021: June 15-17, 2021.
According to GamesIndustry.biz, the ESA informed its partners tonight about the “reimagined” E3 for next year.
Because of the coronavirus, E3 2020 and all other events around the world have been either cancelled, postponed or modified.
Also, the ESA has not decided yet if it will do a digital event for later this year.
Meanwhile, IGN announced yesterday its new Summer of Gaming event, “a global, digital event set to begin this June to bring you the latest news and impressions around upcoming games and the next generation of console hardware.”
For IGN’s digital event in June, various companies such as 2K, Square Enix, SEGA, Bandai Namco, Amazon, Google Stadia, Twitter, Devolver Digital, THQ Nordic, and others will be participating.
“The event will include live broadcasts and on-demand programming featuring IGN’s editorial coverage of the work of game developers from around the world.”
Something cool to mention: Fans will be able to send reaction videos from wherever they are, vote for their favorite announcement, and more.
Could IGN’s Summer of Gaming make things harder for the ESA to switch its current format to something completely different for E3 2021? And, will the ESA still work on a digital event for this year?
