With the inevitable cancellation of E3 2020 due to the coronavirus, Square Enix and the people responsible for the PC Gaming Show are already exploring options to share info about upcoming games with fans.
This afternoon, @SquareEnix issued a statement in English and Japanese on Twitter about the cancellation of this year’s E3 Expo.

“As the world has echoed and united, nothing is more important than protecting the health and well-being of our employees and their families, our partners, and unquestionably, our fans,” starts the post.
“We support the ESA’s decision to cancel E3 2020 and send our strongest heartfelt appreciation to everyone that works tirelessly to bring unforgettable games and experiences to E3.”
Though the cancellation of E3 2020 is a disappointment for fans and the industry, Square Enix did say it is already working on ways to inform fans about its upcoming lineup. “We’re exploring other options to share our games with you.”
The cancellation of E3 also affects smaller developers who depend on the PC Gaming Show to demonstrate their work. A post on PC Gamer says they’ll be sharing more info about their plans in the coming weeks. “The PC Gaming Show’s remit will always be to shine a light on the smaller studios whose passion projects are so key to the success of PC gaming.”
