Luis Alfonso Mendoza, Mexican voice-over actor known as the Latin American voice of Gohan for Dragon Ball Z anime since 1996, died yesterday afternoon in the Mexico City neighborhood of Portales Norte.
According to Spanish-language media, Mendoza was killed in a dispute he had with a tenant he was renting a studio space to. The tenant also killed Mendoza’s wife Lourdes Adame and his brother-in-law. Eventually, the attacker attempted suicide by shooting himself in the head but failed and was taken to a hospital as he was in a serious condition.

Mendoza was well-known in the industry for providing the Spanish-language voices of Leonardo on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Daniel LaRusso in The Karate Kid movies, Sheldon Cooper in The Big Bang Theory, Dexter in Dexter’s Laboratory, Bugs Bunny in Looney Tunes, and countless others in his 40+ years in his career.
